
Quality Assurance Lead
Rainbow Recruitment Services are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Lead to join their client, an established sweet and savoury bakery in Burgess Hill.
This is a great opportunity, available on a full-time permanent basis.
Responsibilities:
Health & Food Safety

Ensure correct PPE is always worn, and this is promoted throughout the team.

Immediately investigate & report any workplace incidents.
Procedures
-
Conduct product Gluten Free checks and positive release products for despatch.
-
Validate machinery tests conducted by the Packing Team and validate packing.
-
Conduct site temperature checks and Calibrate Temperature Probes, where required.
-
Gather data from Temperature Data Loggers, review and log on system as required.
-
Gather data for weight control from Checkweighers in line with Customer and legal communication schedules, adapt data using relevant software to assist management reports.

Conduct Checkweigher calibration checks according to the required schedules.
-
Conduct Weigh Scale calibration in line with set schedules.
-
Conduct Metal Detection calibration checks on the machinery to ensure working correctly, with spot checks on packaging runs as required.

Assisted by the management team, check product quality to ensure product is made to a safe and consistently high standard, to include:
-
Review general GMP throughout the bakery, guide team on any non-conformance.

Review on Traceability and quality systems to ensure they are maintained by staff.
-
Check operators are following metal detection checks in line with procedure.
-
Review CCP’s to ensure they are being maintained by various team.
-
Collate packing samples from each packing run for all products and retain for the various tests & specific customer requirements.

Organise product taste panels, with a focus on specific key customer requirements.

Conduct Glass Checks, work with Maintenance to rectify any issues found.

Assist in the continuous development of Quality Systems.
The Successful candidate will have:
-
Knowledge and understanding of HACCP, BRC and food quality systems.
-
Good communication skills - Fluent in spoken and written English to appropriate business level.
-
Excellent numeracy, and literacy skills.
-
Computer literacy, to include Intermediate skills in MS Office applications – Excel; Word; Access.

Good analytical approach to problem-solving.
-
Good written reporting skills.
-
Drive to continually improve processes and seek new challenges.

A keen eye for detail, and always drive to achieve a high quality in work.
You will also be required to:

Demonstrate flexibility in working hours – some additional hours may be required.

Be discreet and respectful of confidentiality.

Salary:

Starting salary of £25,000 to £30,000 dependant on experience
