Rainbow Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of their client, an established engineering company in Lancing (West Sussex) for a Press Operator.

With over 60 years experience, the company are specialists in the manufacture of sintered materials for electrical and mechanical applications. This process includes following formulation sheets, weighing and mixing raw materials, pressing them and finally heat treatment, therefore the successful candidate should have proven working experience working as a Press Operator.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform machine pre use safety checks

• Support the Foreman when setting the press

• Continuous monitoring of the machine during production

• Perform minor equipment adjustments during the manufacturing process to ensure pressure, speed and temperature are maintained in line with works orders

• Ensure all process documentation is completed

• Be involved with the manufacture of pre-mixes

• Make sure the work environment remains, safe, uncluttered clean and well maintained

• Comply with Health & Safety requirements

• Ensure quality standards are achieved in terms of Right First Time

• Ensure that non-conformance is challenged

• Support the business on time delivery metrics

• Ensure equipment is maintained through preventative maintenance

• Support the packaging and shipment of finished product

 

Skills / Experience Required:

• Proven working experience as a Press Operator

• Setting experience desirable

• Surface Grinder & Lathe experience an advantage

• Results driven

• Counterbalance Fork Licence an advantage

• Diagnostic and problem-solving skills

• Experience of working within a continuous improvement environment

• Good communication skills

 

Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days: Monday to Thursday 6am – 4.30pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
