Rainbow Recruitment Services are recruiting on behalf of their client, an established engineering company in Lancing (West Sussex) for a Site Manager to oversee a small team of staff, and the production of its materials.

With over 60 years experience, the company are specialists in the manufacture of sintered materials for electrical and mechanical applications. This process includes following formulation sheets, weighing and mixing raw materials, pressing them and finally heat treatment, therefore the successful candidate should have a strong engineering background.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will manage a small team of experienced operators producing specialist materials and be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality objectives and health and safety procedures at all stages.

As Manager you will organise staff, order raw materials, issue job sheets/work instructions into production, oversee production through to final inspection and despatch and seek continual improvement to products, processes, and all associated costs.

As necessary you will carry out root-cause investigations into any non-conformities that arise and maybe required to assist in the development of new materials/products.

This role requires a strong background in engineering. Preferably in the use and operation of hydraulic presses, ovens and furnaces.

A background in, or good understanding of chemistry would be desirable, along with previous experience of quality assurance auditing and responsibility for health and safety.

 

Hours: 32-34 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8am - 4.30pm)

Salary: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
